John Pointon & Sons Awarded Top Green Credentials From BSI

ISO 14001John Pointon & Sons recently became one of the first Rendering and Recycling companies in the UK to be awarded ISO 14001 environmental certification from BSI Management Systems.

Underlining our reputation as an environmentally conscious company, we have proven our green credentials by becoming one of only a very few professional practices in the UK to be awarded the internationally accepted standard to date.

ISO 14001 is an international standard that specifies a process for controlling and improving an organisation's environmental performance, and the rigorous assessment process helped John Pointon & Sons identify and implement new greener work practices.

As part of our efforts to achieve this well-recognized certification, we have established our own Environmental Management System (EMS) to ensure that our activities, products and services have minimal impact on or risk to the environment. As a Company we help to monitor and improve upon a number of areas that touch on the environment, such as energy efficiency, sustainable fuels, waste management and emission control.

Technical Director, Barney Williams said, "John Pointon and Sons is a company devoted to the environment and sustainability. With this philosophy at our core and adhering to the highest standards, such as the ISO 14001 standard, we are continuously improving our environmental performance. The efforts of our staff will ensure that our business activities have the least impact on our environment and minimise the burden for future generations."
